A big thank-you to our members for attending our recent in-person REALTOR® Safety Session, and to OREA for sponsoring this important event! The session focused on the various risks REALTORS® face while performing their work and emphasized strategies to promote a culture of safety across the real estate sector. Attendees gained a deeper understanding of the risks involved in their day-to-day operations and the importance of prioritizing personal safety. They explored best practices for home showings, open houses, and client meetings, while learning practical strategies in situational awareness, self-defence, and technology tools designed to enhance safety.
Through case studies and real-life scenarios, REALTORS® learned how to proactively recognize and mitigate potential threats. Participants left equipped with actionable safety measures they can implement immediately, as well as the confidence to navigate challenging situations. The session also provided opportunities to connect with colleagues and build a network of support and resources for ongoing safety training and awareness within the real estate community.
